It is NOT street-legal by default and was designed for professional motocross racing. However, Alta also produced the Redshift EXR street-legal variant with lighting and registration capability. Used MX models can potentially be converted to street legal through Dirt Legal, though adding DOT equipment is required. Highly sought after in the used market.
